June 1962 Participation in the First All-Union speleological gathering at Ai-Petri Massif (speleological techniques, topographical survey, training descending into pits, searching).

After that gathering the number of members of the section had significantly increased, and a year later there were two sections - BSSS (B.Kogan) and Small Section at CETS (V. Sharapov).

Summer 1963 First All-Union Tourism Central Council gathering passed on the Karabi Masiff. It was preparation of junior caving instructors. Chief - Vladimir Ilyukhin, head teacher - Victor Dublyansky. Out of 15 participants 4 were from Sevastopol - Nikolay Pavlov, Alexei Fedorov, Victor and Alexander Sharapov, and Alexander Klyukvin. B. Kogan was the instructor of the section.

Years 1963-1965 Research in the Karadag forests area (Cristalnaya Pit), the Black River area, Karabi Massif, near Krasnya (Red) Cave, cliffs of Crimea South Coast. In 1964, the Uzundzha Cave was discovered. BSSS members participated in almost all the expeditions conducted by the karst group of the Institute of Mineral Resources under guidance of V. Dublyansky.

Speleoschool was regularly held in winter, speleocamps - in summer.

From 1964 to 1965 more than 150 caves and pits were studied in the Crimea and the Caucasus.

1967 During speleocamp in Karadag forest several dozens of pits were discovered and investigated in the area between the peaks of the Lisaya(Bald) - Tarpan-Bair - Spirady, including Sevastopolskaya Cave (198 m) – at that time, the third deepest cave, not only in Crimea but in the Soviet Union.

From 1972 to 1974 BSSS cavers participated in work of hydrogeologists in assessment of groundwater resources of Baydarskaya Valley. 2-3 people weekly measured water levels with racks installed in Skelskaya Cave and in the karst source of the left side Uzundzha River. They also replaced tapes on floating recorders in the indication experiments.

1972 - study of the flooded Enthusiastov Cave that lays under the river bed of Uzundzha River. Expedition to Bzyb, leader B.Kogan.

Years 1973 - 1974 Expedition to Ahtiarskaya Cave (420 m) on Arabika Massif, leader V.Sharapov.

1974 Because of the drought that dried Skelskij Source, Chernaya (Black) Cave was passed. Expedition to the Krasnaya (Red) Cave was also conducted, result of which was passed 6th siphon (S. Nagernyak, V.Beloivanenko), leader A.Nazarov.

1979 Joint expedition (Sevastopol, Yalta, Simferopol) to the Kaskadnaya Cave, leader A.Fedorov. The extension at depth of 310 m was found.

Years 1980 - 1983 Expeditions to Nakhimovskaya, Suvorov, 200 years of Sevastopol , and other caves on Karabi Plateau. Leader V. Sharapov

Until 1984 BSSS held regular competitions – speleological open city championship, participated in regional and national competitions, and in 1984 - at the Second All-Union gathering of speleotourists in Sukhumi. BSSS teams almost won prizes in almost all competitions.

1985 Participation in the Crimean - Perm expedition to the Patyuhina Cave. Igor Volsky managed to dive siphon on the depth of -600 m. The expedition reached the depth of - 980 m.

1986 Participation in the Crimean - Perm expedition to the Patyuhina Cave. The expedition reached the depth of - 1025 m.

1987 Participation in the Crimean - Perm expedition to the Patyuhina Cave. The expedition reached the depth of - 1465 м.

1988 Participation in the Crimean expedition to the Patyuhina Cave. The expedition reached the depth of - 1508 м.

In 1989 Discovered source-cave Anna’s Grotto (Chernya(Black) River, Crimea). 240 m of the cave were passed, it has two siphons. At that time, the last siphon could not be passed. (Igor Volsky).

About 20 new caves with depths up to 90 m were discovered in the district of Trapan-Bair Mountain, Karadag forest, and Morcheka Mountain.

In 1993 the level of underground waters lowered making it possible to go 30 m deeper in the Skelskaya and Chernaya (Black) caves. Found significant extensions in the Skelskaya Cave, which, however, couldn’t be passed to the end.

In period from 1993-2012

Conducted work on the binding of caves and topographic cadastral mapping of Ai-Petri district (Crimea).

Were conducted numerous expeditions to the Grigoryan Cave (reached depth of -156 m), cave-source Uzundzha (the length was up to 3020 m), Pastushya (Shepherd) Cave (reached the depth of -175 m, length 875 m), cave-source Ann’s Grotto (passed 2 siphons and length was up to 1020 m), discovered and studied 47 vertical pits and 7 cave-sources of Ai-Petri Massif.

History of Kizil-Koba Cave study by the BSSS

Expedition in the year 1971 ( leader B. Kogan)

Underground camp at the 5th landslide hall: V. Sharapov, A.Fedorov, V. Yakimovich, G. Narkevsky (8 days). On the 4th day the passage leading to the sixth siphon was found in the gallery.

Expedition in the August of 1971( leader V. Sharapov)

32 participants: 30 from Sevastopol and 2 from Sverdlovsk. The main goal – passing of the 6th siphon was not achieved. Due to the strong flooding it took long to pass the first siphon, and lack of time made it impossible to expand a hole in the 5th landslide hall and drag aqualung.

Expedition in the year 1974 - 29.06 - 07.07 ( leader А. Nazarov)

16 participants, all from Sevastopol. A. Nagernyak and V.Beloivanenko passed the 6th siphon.

Second place in the All-Union competition for the best journey in 1974 in the class of speleotrips of 4th difficulty category.

Expedition of 1975 and 1976 ( leader А. Pilupsky and А. Shamrai)

Beginning of the ascent in the fireplace in the “Golubaya Kapel” chamber near the 5th siphon. Passed 60m up.

Expedition in the April-May of 1977 ( leader А. Fedorov)

42 participants: 30 from Sevastopol, 5 from Simferopol and 7 from Saki, Kherson, Kerch, Nalchik, Dnepropetrovsk.

"Shuttle" expedition with three parts: 29.04 - 02. 05 / 06.05 - 09.05 / 21.05 - 22.05

Set up to underground camps in the “Golubaya Kapel” chamber - at the fork, and near the 5th siphon.

The “Kamin”(Fireplace) group (A. Pilupsky, A. Shamrai, K.Gavrilenko, A. Nikolaichuk, S. Goryainov, V. Degtyarenko) finished passing the "Kamin Studentov" - 143 m from the bottom up (+ 80 m to 1976).

On the bench at the mark of +/- 100 m was found rounded pebbles and sand, and at 140 m - mammalian bone fragments of average size (vertebrae, ribs). Fresh air was blowing from the holes in the dome of the fireplace.

To all groups, moving to the exit was given the task to collect and take out the garbage. The cave was cleaned from the 5th landslide hall to the 1st siphon. One of the groups had a test-volunteer who went to the fork and back in the wetsuit of wet type. The wetsuit was worn on bare skin with caving suit on top. Normal thermal mode was achieved by heavy movements and overheating - by immersion in water, to eliminate freezing during stops it was enough to make some muscle movements.

On May 3rd at 13.30 on Dolgorukovskij Massif started to rain, than shower, which stopped at 16.00 (20 mm of rain had fell.) At 17.00 the waterfall from dam of the 5th siphon started to work and the guys of the “Fireplace” group began evacuating the camp up into the fireplace. They stopped at the height of 15 meters, where spent the night in very "comfortable" conditions. The next day, the water began to leave at 14.00, and from the surface it was reported (communication worked all the time) that the first siphon is passable and the guys went down to the hall, although waterfall from the 5th siphon was still working. At 23.30, having one backpack lost in the cascade, a group came out of the cave.
